2013 Napa Valley Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon
The rocky, volcanic hillside soil on Atlas Peak is perfectly suited for Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards are close-row planted, which means no tractors--all hand tended.
A deep ruby color, the wine shows blackberry and cassis on the nose. The mouthfeel is polished, with bright acidity and fine grained satiny tannins.
Flavors are red and dark fruit, earthy, with hints of forest floor and black tea. Enjoy mocha on the lingering finish.
The composition is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot, all from the same location and terroir. Winemaker: Victoria Coleman.
