2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Most of our cabernet sauvignon from this vineyard goes to Pine Ridge Winery, but we keep back a select amount of fruit for a limited bottling of 100% estate grown, single vineyard LOBO Cabernet.  This is our second vintage made by Victoria Coleman.

The wine is custom crushed at a facility just south of St. Helena.  The fruit is hand-picked, of course, gently pressed and then aged for 18 months in 75% new French oak barrels from Baron, Taransaud, and Seguin Moreau.

The wine has a dark ruby hue, with a bouquet of blueberries, blackberries and violets.  The dark fruit flavors provide a complex mouthfeel, and a lingering finish of brioche and cocoa.

While 100% cabernet sauvignon, the wine has a balance and complexity that eludes many blends.  Drink now through 2016.
